Inspiration from the Sea – porcelain turtle carapace – turtle shell necklace

I shape and carve the porcelain, stain with various colors and oxides in the crevices, glaze and fire to cone 10.  I add embellishments from my travels.

Black suede lace, the Porcelain Carapace measures approx. 2 inches long, with a couple of black pearls, and 3 small green sea urchin spines hanging an additional inch. The necklace opening is approx 28 inches with a lobster clasp in the front. Metal is hypo-allergenic.

The backside is smooth to the touch and unadorned. (different necklace showing back to give you an idea)
